Knossos Palace – Heraklion City
Knosos palace located 6 km out of the city of Heraklion. There is evidence that this location was inhabited during the neolithic times (6000 B.C.) . On the ruins of the neolithic settlement was built the first Minoan palace (1900 B.C.) where the dynasty of Minos ruled. Our next visit is the museum of Knosos, the best in the world for Minoan art, as it contains by far the most important and complete collection of artefacts of the Minoan civilization of Crete. After we can walk in the city of Heraklion for shopping and lunch.
