On this tour firstly we visit the monastery of Preveli which spotted on the rocky hills of the southern side of Rethymnon Prefecture, Crete. It consists of two monasteries, the Kato Moni Preveli and the Piso Monastery of Agios Ioannis Theologos, The monasteries date back to the middle 16th century. Through all these years, they were destroyed many times but they were always restored. Very close to monastery is the Preveli beach where we will need to walk 15-20 minutes. Preveli beach is the second largest palm beach in Crete and is a magnificent natural experience. The many palm trees grow from a very long gorge surrounded by steep mountains and in the middle a wide river which water comes from Kourtaliotis gorge. Note that there are no facilities such as umbrellas, sun beds and showers. It will be a good to bring your own facilities. Our last stop is town of Rethymno city, which have a wonderful old harbor, full of color, lined with Venetian and Ottoman buildings that have for centuries been reflected in its calm waters. You will enjoy walking in the old city.
